Things You'll Need
Instructions
Decide whether you need to stow your camera under the plane or if you can carry it on. Check the dimensions the airline allows as a carry-on item. This information is usually available on the airline website. If the bag is larger than the allowable dimensions, you need to check it. You also may want to check your camera if you have a large amount of equipment or want to carry other items onto the plane with you.
Gather your camera and equipment needed. Make sure the camera lens is on tight. Cover the camera and extra lenses in lint-free cloth.
Open the hard case. Arrange the camera and each piece inside the case in a separate compartment. Separating the pieces ensures they won't bump together and be damaged in the traveling process.
Close the case and lock the fasteners into place.
Wrap duct tape around the case to make sure it stays closed. Label the tape with your name and contact information, so it is clearly identifiable.
