How to Make Your Own Cool Pictures

Learning how to take a good photo is a matter of practice. The most important thing to remember when starting out as a photographer is to plan. You may even want to sketch the picture you want to create. Pick themes for your shoots and think of ideas based around that theme. Planning a shoot allows you to have what you need. A well thought out photograph increases your chances of creating a cool picture.

  Decide on a theme for the picture you want to create.

  Choose three different pictures you want to create based on the theme.

  Gather the items you need for the theme. Items might include people, costumes and props.

  Decide on a location for the shoot. Make sure the location has a lot of bright light. If there is a small amount of light, you may need extra lighting equipment.

  Set up the shot. Put models in costumes and makeup. Arrange any props you are using.

  Take a few test shots with different settings to determine the camera settings to use for the lighting. When you get a shot you like, leave the camera on those settings.

  Try the shot from different angles and viewpoints. Take wide shots (whole scene in view) and closeups (focus on a particular area).

  Set up and shoot each shot you have planned on taking.

  Upload photos to the computer to check picture quality. Choose the photos you like best.
