The term "camera noise" can be misleading. It does not refer to an actual sound but describes a grainy look your photos can take. This often unwanted texture is usually seen in low light photos and is the result of the ISO setting on the camera being too high. It can be avoided before a photograph is taken by lowering the ISO setting as per the digital camera owner's manual. Upload photos from the digital camera to the computer using your camera's file transfer cable.

Open the digital imaging software.

Find the file in which the desired photo is located. This can often be done by clicking FILE>OPEN.

Left click on the file you want to select.

Click "OPEN." The photo will open in your digital imaging program. In Adobe Photoshop Elements, locate the top navigation bar, and click FILTER>NOISE>REDUCE NOISE. In Corel Paint Shop Pro, locate the top navigation bar, and click ADJUST>PHOTOFIX>DIGITAL CAMERA NOISE REMOVAL.
