Things You'll Need
Instructions
Consult a fitting guide (see Resources for an example) to see what type of case your DSLR will need. The housing must also take into account the size lens you plan to use, as the lens must also be protected from water.
Examine the depth to which the camera housing will function. Less expensive housings may not be guaranteed for deep dives, so you will need to compare the depths and make sure the housing you are choosing is suitable before purchase.
Check your purchased underwater housing for leaks. Seal the housing without a camera and place it in a pool or bathtub, then observe. Air bubbles and droplets inside the housing may indicate a leak that needs to be addressed before your camera equipment is trusted to the housing.
Seat the camera inside the clean, dry camera housing and seal. This will vary based on the type of camera, type of housing and the manufacturer. Remember to check all "O" rings and seals before submerging the equipment.
