Things You'll Need
Instructions
Upload your photos to your computer. You can do this by plugging your digital camera in to your computer's USB port or plugging the camera's memory card directly into a memory card reader if your computer has this feature.
Open your photo in a photo editing program. You can use a free program such as Kodak Easyshare software, or a more advances photo editing program such as Adobe Photoshop. If you would rather edit the photo online, upload it to a site such as Shutterfly.com or Photobucket.com for access to photo editing tools.
Browse the various editing effects available in your program. Nearly any photo editing program, including those listed above, will have an option for converting the photo to black and white. This option may be listed as "Black and White" or "Greyscale." You can also give your photos an edgier black and white effect with options such as the Ink Stamp effect available from Photobucket.com or the Graphic Pen filter in Photoshop.
Save a copy of your black and white photo under a different name from the original. This will allow you to go back to the color original and try different effects on it later.
