How to Find Kodak Internal Camera Parts

According to the Kodak website, you should never take apart your camera and attempt to fix it yourself. Attempts to do so will invalidate the camera's warranty. But if you are a photographer with a little courage and ingenuity, not to mention some knowledge in the area of camera repair and a camera that has no warranty, the prospect of fixing a camera may not scare you. If this is the case, then finding the parts for your camera is simple.

Examine your camera to determine the model number. Most camera model information is printed on the front of the camera. For example, the Nikon F90 will have the letters F-90 printed next to the lens mount on the right front of the camera. This will help to determine what internal parts you need.

    • 2

Look for a broken model of the same camera the same model to cannibalize for parts. Some older cameras are often listed for sale in consignment sections of photography stores. Other good sources for broken cameras include thrift stores, swap meets or flea markets.

    • 3

Avoid antique stores, garage sales and estate auctions as sources for older cameras. Cameras found at locations such as these are usually overpriced because they are labeled antiques.

    • 4

Search online retail outlets or auction houses for the specific part. Retail websites such as Digital Camera Parts Dept or USCamera sell parts for a wide range of cameras.

    • 5

Place a request at an online photography forum, or in the classified ad section of a photography magazine for parts. Some photographers hang on to old equipment and are receptive to selling or giving away this equipment.
