Smartparts Digital Frame Instructions

Displaying digital photos can be tricky; fortunately, Smartparts digital frames allow snap-happy digital photographers a great way to showcase their work. These frames use standard memory cards, much like a digital camera, to display images on a small, elegantly-framed LCD screen. Using a Smartparts digital frame is as simple as removing the card from your camera and inserting it into the card reader slot on the frame. With this level of intuitive ease, it is simple to display your best digital art in a Smartparts frame.
  1. Setting up the Frame

    • Begin by setting up your frame. Make sure that you have the frame, remote control, USB cable and power adapter nearby, as all of these will be necessary to use your frame. Turn the power switch to the "Off" position and connect the A/C power adapter to the frame, then plug in the adapter.

You will be able to load photos directly onto your Smartparts digital frame from your computer. To load photos from your computer, insert a memory card into the memory card slot on your frame, then use the USB connection cable to connect the frame to your computer. This will cause the frame to show up on your desktop as a removable storage device. You can then move photos from any location on your computer into the frame by dragging the files to the frame icon, then dropping them. The images are stored on the memory card in the frame. You can also organize the photos on your memory card, then insert the card into the frame without connecting to the computer.

Once the photos are loaded onto the card, disconnect the frame from the computer and turn the frame on. This will display an opening screen where you can select the type of memory card you are using. Depending on your Smartparts digital frame model, there may be a remote control allowing you to edit, zoom, and display your photos. Other models have these controls directly on the frame. The photos on the card will now be displayed; use the controls on the remote or frame to view, zoom, reorganize or rotate the images as necessary. When finished, press the slideshow button to display your digital photos.

There are some cautions about the LCD screen on Smartparts frames. These screens are delicate and can be easily scratched. The frames are sold with a protective film over the display. Removing this film will improve image quality, but exposes the screen to scratching. Choose a place for your Smartparts frame where it is not likely to fall, be knocked into or otherwise damaged.
