How to View Photos From a Camera on a PC

Would you like to instantly view those \family photos you just took at the birthday party and share them with your guests right at the party? Viewing photos from your digital camera is simply a plug-in away, and there is no fancy downloading involved. All you need is a photo slide program on your PC, and you are ready to go. These instructions are for one of the most popular slide viewers in use--the "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer." If your system cannot use this program, consult with your computer representative for information about a photo slide viewer program for your computer.

Instructions

  1. How to Use Windows Picture and Fax Viewer

    • 1

Attach your digital camera to your computer using the USB cable.

    • 2

Set your camera to "Play" and it turn on. The computer will recognize the camera and open up a menu screen which will include the "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer."

    • 3

Choose "View a Slideshow of Images Using Windows Picture and Fax Viewer" from the pop-up menu and then click "OK" at the bottom of the menu box.

    • 4

Watch the slide show auto-play on your computer screen (your photos fill the entire screen). The program will automatically switch to a new picture every 5 seconds.

    • 5

Stop the slide show by clicking on the blue pause button at the top-right corner toolbar. Move forward or backward using the blue arrow buttons (with the pause still on) to view your photos individually without the slide show. Click on the green arrow button on the left side of the toolbar to resume the timed slide show.

    • 6

To exit the slide show program entirely, click on the red "X" button at the far right on the toolbar.
