How to Convert Old Pictures Into Digital

At some point in your life, you will decide that converting your old film photos into a digital form is the thing to do. Having photographs tucked away in old shoe boxes or albums with the pages stuck together is no way for your senior prom to be remembered. Pull them out and start a new habit---digital photos.

Flatbed scanner

  If you have negatives of photographs, get them developed into prints.

  Make sure your scanner is plugged in and the software is installed on your computer. When you insert the software disc into the disc drive, simply follow the onscreen directions.

  Place a photograph face down on the inside panel of the flatbed scanner. Close the scanner.

  Choose the automatic settings for your scanner. The photograph will be scanned at high resolution, perfect for later printing.

  A dialogue box will appear. Specify where you would like your photograph to be saved on the computer.

  Continue on to the next photograph.
