Preparing Your Photo
First you need to prepare your photo for printing. Open your photo on the photo-editing software. Adobe Photoshop is an example of such software, but there many others.
Most photographs will open in a format and size that is large enough to print across several sheets of paper. Check the image size to make sure it is at least 20 inches by 30 inches or more.
Separate your image into six equal sections. Put each section into a new layer. (A "layer" is a defined area of your photo. Creating layers gives you an easy way to put pieces of your photo in order, move them around or edit only parts of your photo.)
Copy any portion of your photo and then select "paste into new layer." It does not matter which order the layers are in.
Separating Your Photo
Open six new 8-by-10 documents. Go back to your original photo and copy each layer into each new document.
Once you get all six layers into your six 8-by-10 documents, check them for clarity and quality. Make any adjustments to their focus, sharpness, etc. with the tools on the editing software.
When you are finished editing, you're ready to print all six pages. Once they're printed, you can put the six pages together to make one large photograph.
