Things You'll Need
Instructions
Ask a friend to host your party. Let him or her know you'll need plenty of room to set up a studio area and another space to display your work with enough seating for all the guests.
Invite friends and acquaintances. Send out invitations early so your guests will have plenty of time to RSVP. Ask your guests to bring makeup, hair-styling accessories and any clothes they may wish to wear in a photograph.
Arrive at the party early to set up your lights and equipment. Help the host or hostess with last minute preparations.
Ask your host or hostess to prepare some finger food to keep your guests busy while others are posing for portraits. You can also entertain those who are waiting with short games. Offer a door prize for each winner. Have your portfolio available for guests to peruse while they wait.
Have your host or hostess available to help others prepare for their portraits by applying makeup and putting the finishing touches on hair. Invite each guest to have a picture taken.
Provide each guest with a proof of their portrait and include ordering information along with sizes, prices and services available. Take appointments for family sittings while you're there. Give your host or hostess a complimentary portrait and offer a free family portrait for the hospitality. Ask other guests to host parties and offer plenty of compensation.
