  • Fabric
  • Gloves
  • Fabric dye
  • String or twine
  • Wooden stir stick
  • Scissors
  • Large plastic container
  • Sewing machine (if needed)

Instructions

      Purchase a large piece of fabric such as muslin or a bed sheet.

      Prepare fabric by hemming the edges to avoid fraying, if needed.

      Bunch up fabric loosely into a ball.

      Wrap string around fabric ball to secure the shape of the fabric.

      Prepare fabric dye per instructions in plastic container. Combine two colors to add depth.

      Insert fabric ball into mixture and let it soak as per instructions of the fabric dye, stirring when needed with a wooden stir stick.

      Remove fabric ball when desired color is reached and cut the string.

      Rinse until water runs clear.
