How to Clean Dust From Photographs

Wear white cotton clothes while handling photographs. Fingertips have oils that can transfer to and damage the pictures, even if you're careful and only hold the edges and corners.

Use a soft brush. A soft clean make up brush, like the ones used to apply blush, are perfect for this job. You can also purchase a photograph brush at a photography store.

Start at the center of your photograph and dust with the soft brush to the outside edges. Do not blow the dust off with your mouth.

Store photographs in an acid free album or storage box to avoid further dust from gathering on your pictures.
