Battery Specifications
Your Sony Reader Pocket Edition̵7;s battery is a 3.7-volt lithium-ion type sealed inside of the device. Opening the device̵7;s case voids its warranty, if still active, and can possibly destroy the device. Opening the Sony Reader Pocket Edition̵7;s case also puts you at risk of an electric shock.
Service
If your Sony Pocket Reader Edition̵7;s battery needs replacing, call Sony to speak to a representative about sending the device in for service. You can also request service for your Sony Pocket Reader Edition via the Internet by navigating to esupport.sony.com and clicking the "Reader" link. Then click the ̶0;Email & Phone Support̶1; link under the Contact Support heading.
Recharging
Charge your Sony Pocket Reader Edition on a regular basis by connecting its USB cable to the device and any available USB port on your computer. Leaving the device uncharged for a prolonged period of time may reduce its charging capability. Your Sony Reader Pocket Edition̵7;s battery life is approximately two weeks on a single charge, according to Sony. Your computer must be powered on to charge your e-book reader and the device may take up to three hours to fully charge. You can't use the Sony Reader Pocket Edition while it's charging via the USB port.
AC Adapter
You can also charge your Sony Reader Pocket Edition using its optional AC adapter, sold separately. The adapter̵7;s product number is PRSA-AC1 and is available from Sony and Sony resellers. The e-book reader may take up to two hours to fully charge if using the AC adapter.
