Turn the scoreboard̵7;s power off at the master switch. Run painter̵7;s tape along the top, bottom and side edges of the scoreboard using a straightedge. Smooth the tape down. Measure each of the scoring panels with a tape measure. Write these numbers down. Measure each of the video panels with a tape measure and write these numbers down. Repeat this procedure with any emblems or designs on the scoreboard.
Cut panels out of the sheets of wax paper with a straightedge and utility knife to the size of each of the panels and emblems or designs. If any of the panels are too larger for wax paper, use plastic tarps instead.
Place the wax paper panels over their corresponding panels on the scoreboard. Tape the panels to the scoreboard with strips of painter̵7;s tape. Place the plastic tarps over the panels that are too big for the wax paper. Fold the sides, top and bottom of the tarps into the center so they do not overlap the panels they are on. Tape the edges of the tarps to the scoreboard with strips of painter̵7;s tape.
Mix the paint that will be used on the scoreboard in its paint can with a wooden stir stick. Continue to mix the paint until it is even and of a smooth consistency. Pour the paint from the can into a paint tray. Apply the paint roller brush to the paint in the tray.
Paint the scoreboard with the paint roller brush using vertical strokes that begin at one end of the scoreboard and end at the other end. Reapply paint to the brush as necessary, and add mixed paint to the tray as necessary, until the scoreboard has been painted. Let the paint dry for the amount of time specified in the instructions that come with it. Apply another coat of paint in the same manner as the first.
Remove the painter̵7;s tape from around the wax paper and the plastic tarps and dispose of them. Apply mixed paint from the tray to a hand brush. Paint the edges of the panels with the brush and a straightedge. Let the paint dry for the amount of time specified in its instructions and apply another coat.
Remove the painter̵7;s tape from the emblems or designs. Remove the wax paper and dispose of it. Paint the emblems or designs with a hand brush and mixed paint that matches their color. Paint around their edges with the hand brush and the paint used for the scoreboard.
Remove the painter̵7;s tape from the edges of the scoreboard. Paint the edges with the hand brush using the paint used for the scoreboard. Let the paint dry for the amount of time the instructions specify. Spray the panels with a plastic cleaning spray and wipe them with a soft cloth. Turn the scoreboard̵7;s master switch back to the ̶0;On̶1; position.
