Connecting Device
Plug the larger connector on the USB cable into any USB port on your computer. Plug the other end of the cable into the USB port on the right side of the Pandigital. Your Windows or Mac system will automatically recognize the e-reader and load its device driver. If using a Windows system, a dialog box will appear asking if your would like to open the device's Explorer window. Click the "Open folder to view files" link. If using a Mac, the device will appear on your system's Desktop as PD_Novel.Click on "PD_Novel" to open the e-reader's window.
Acceptable File Formats
You can copy the following file formats to the folders inside of the Pandigital PD_Novel window: EPUB and PDF e-book files, MPEG4 video files, JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP image files and MP3, WAV, AAC audio files.
Transferring Content
Navigate to and open the directory on your computer containing the EPUB and PDF file(s) you want to copy to your Pandigital. Switch over to the PD_Novel window and arrange it so it is open along with the directory containing the files you want to copy. Click and drag the EPUB and PDF file(s) to the "eBooks" folder in the PD_Novel window.
Ejecting Pandigital
After transferring the files, click the hardware removal icon next to your Windows clock; the icon looks like a USB connector. Click the link containing the wording PD_Novel or Pandigital. Disconnect the device's USB cable from your computer when the message "Safe to Remove Hardware" appears. If using a Mac, click the PD_Novel on your system's Desktop to select the device. Press and hold the "Command" key then press the "E" key to eject the Pandigital device. When the PD_Novel icon disappears from the Desktop, disconnect the device's USB cable from your computer.
Accessing E-books
To access the e-books on your Pandigital, tap the "Kobo" icon then tap "My Library." Tap on "Author," "Title" or "Date and then tap the down arrow and click "Local." Tap on the e-book's cover you want to open for reading.
