How to Make a Google Book Into a Sony Reader

The Sony Reader uses the ePub format by default for reading ebooks. Google and Sony have a deal that allows Reader owners to transfer their Google books onto their devices for portable reading. Because of this deal, you do not need to convert a Google book to read it on the Sony Reader -- you just need to download the book in the proper format and transfer it to your device.

Sony Reader Library software
USB cable

Instructions

  Connect your Sony Reader to your computer with the USB cable.

  Open your Web browser and go to the Google Books Web page that has the book you want.

  Click "Read on Your Device."

  Click "Download EPUB File." This downloads an .acsm file to your hard drive.

  Double-click the icon of the file you downloaded. The ebook opens in the Sony Reader Library program.

  Click the book's icon in the Reader Library software. Drag and drop it into your Reader's device icon.
