Things You'll Need
Instructions
Prioritize your files and delete the collections you do not need. Many eBooks will support audio files as well as book files. Audio files, whether music (MP3) or audio book (AA or AAX) formats, consume more memory than book files. One MP3 music file will use more memory, for example, than the 1,400-page novel "War and Peace" by Leo Tolstoy. Deleting audio files will free memory on your eReader for more books.
Choose the smallest file format available for the book you are going to download. Not all eReaders will have the option of more than one file format. If given a choice, however, choose files with basic text only rather than files that include images. For example, choose basic TXT or RTF formats over PDF file formats.
Add a new SD memory card to your eBook reader. Models that include SD card slots have the option to expand the storage space. Check your user manual for supported SD card types. Damage might result if you insert the SD card in the wrong direction, so confirm with your user manual if you are unsure. Some eReaders will have dummy SD cards in these slots. Remove the dummy card and replace it with your new SD memory card. It might take several minutes for the eReader to recognize the SD card if the card size is large.
