Go On Girl Book Club
The Go On Girl book club was founded in 1991 and now 19 years later there are 30 chapters in 12 different states. The Go On Girl book club celebrates African-American literature and writers and is the largest African-American book club in the country. Each chapter is made up of 12 members only, however, each state can have as many chapters as necessary.

Word Brooklyn Book Club
The Word Brooklyn book club is held at the Word Bookstore. The book club selections are always on sale a month prior to the book club meeting, and the purchaser will receive 10 percent off. Meetings are held twice monthly, every other week. The book selection changes from genre to genre each month and previous selections have included "Miss Lonelyhearts &The Day of the Locust" by Nathanael West, "Babylon Revisited and Other Stories" by F. Scott Fitzgerald and "Pyongyang" by Guy Delisle.

Suffolk County Book Club
The Suffolk County book club is a woman's book club that discusses a different book each month. The meeting location also changes monthly. Book club meetings can be held online, at a coffee shop, at a restaurant or even at someone's home. The current members come from the Mt. Sinai, Port Jeff, Rocky Point, Coram and Sound Beach areas, as well as the surrounding cities. However, any woman is welcome to join. Books are chosen from the best seller list as well as member choices. The club also attends book signings and meet-the-author gatherings.

Books that Make You Go Hmmm Book Club
The Books that Make You Go Hmmm book club was founded on February 1, 2010. The book club covers all types of literature and genre of books; there is no one niche topic within the book club. Such writers as Stephen King, Jane Austin, Shakespeare and Neil Gaiman are discussed within the book club, as well as non-fiction literature too. Meetings are once a month and are at local restaurants, coffee shops and bars.
