Join a Local Library Book Club
Register for a book club (or book discussion group) at your local library. Reading groups are typically held once a month with the book announced at least two weeks beforehand. Most libraries have a flyer (or sign-up sheet) posted at the front desk.
Visit your library's website through PublicLibraries.com (see Resources below). Sign up for a monthly email announcement, which usually has programming schedules sent to subscribers.
Find a Local Book Club
Seek out local book clubs. Visit the Reader's Circle website to get a listing of book clubs in your area (see Resources below). You will be able to search by zip code and get information about the group as well as post questions or comments.
Ask people you know about local book clubs. Reach out to others at faith-based organizations, schools and fitness centers you attend.
Check local bookstores for discussion groups. Many big and small stores have book clubs and special events that could connect you with others.
Get information about book clubs and how to formulate questions for discussions. Go to Book-Clubs-Resource online to get useful, user-friendly information (see Resources below).
Consider joining an online book club. These are appealing for people who are very busy or enjoy the ease of the online experience. Online book clubs are organized by Web forums, email and Internet service providers.
