How to Make a Short Jacket

Short jackets are named so because their hem comes down no farther than the waist, as opposed to longer-style coats. These jackets have a variety of uses and weights. Some styles include bolero jackets, shrugs and wraps. Both men and women's fashions over the years have included short jackets, though they are primarily women's apparel now. Short jackets can be sewn from a variety of materials, depending on the nature of the jacket's use. Knitted short jackets also are popular. Depending on the occasion, different accessories such as belts, necklaces and other jewelry can help provide a different fashion statement.
