Things You'll Need
Instructions
Wrap the yarn around the side peg at the end of the loom to begin knitting your scarf.
Extend the yarn to the first peg on the right and wrap it around the peg starting at the far side and wrapping around to the side closest to your starting end.
Wrap the yarn across to the first peg on the left side, going from the far side of the peg back to the close side of the peg. Extend the yarn diagonally to the second peg on the right and wrap it in the same fashion as the other two pegs. Continue this process until you have wrapped seven pegs on both sides of the loom.
Push down lightly on the yarn in the middle of the loom to move the loops down closer to the bottom of the pegs. This will make room for another row of yarn on top.
Move the yarn straight across from the last left peg to the last right peg. Pass the peg with the yarn on the side closest to the start of the loom and wrap it back around. Switch diagonally to the sixth peg on the right. Pass it on the side closest to the start of the loom and wrap it back around. Pass the sixth left peg on the side closest to the start of the loom and wrap it back around the other side. Continue until you have made it back to the beginning of the loom once again.
Wrap the yarn around the unused center peg at the end two times to hold it in place.
Push down the first loops of yarn to the bottom of the peg while keeping the second loop at the top of the pegs.
Hook each of the bottom loops and pull them away from the outside of the pegs. Lift the loops up over the top of the top loops. Push the center yarn down again.
Wrap the yarn around the pegs just as you did the first time around. Push down the bottom loops, hook them and lift them up and over the top loops. Push the yarn down through the middle. Continue the process until your scarf is as long as you want it. Cut off the yarn leaving an eight-inch tail.
Lift the yarn loop off the peg on the last right peg. Pull the last left loop off the peg and pull that loop through the last right loop using the hook. Pull the second-to-last right loop off the peg and through the last right loop. Lift the second-to-last left loop off the peg and through the last right loop. Continue to lift loops off pegs from left to right and pull them through the last right peg until you get to the end. Pull the tail through the loop and then pull it tight, locking the loop into a knot. Cut off the excess yarn.
Cut eight strips of yarn to eight-inch lengths. Stick the hook through the end of the side of the scarf on which you want to put tails. Hook one of the yarn tails two inches in from the end and pull it through the scarf, creating a loop on the other side. Run the other end of the tail through the loop and pull it tight. Continue this along the rest of the edge of the scarf until there are eight tails of yarn.
