Sewing Your Own Wii Fit Tote Bag

Nintendo sells a Wii Fit tote bag that allows owners of the Wii Fit to carry it from place to place with ease. However, you don̵7;t have to buy a tote bag for your Wii Fit if you own a sewing machine. You can make your own. Since the Wii Fit isn̵7;t light you̵7;ll need a heavier material for the tote bag, like strong nylon, so the bag won̵7;t rip.

Sturdy nylon
Scissors
Iron
Woven nylon straps
Pins
Thread
Serger
Sewing machine

Instructions

  Cut out one yard of sturdy nylon fabric.

  Fold the fabric in half length-wise and iron in flat. Serge the side of the nylon fabric together.

  Sew the sides of the fabric together after you serge them. Sew a straight stitch with a seam allowance of three-eighths of an inch.

  Fold the fabric at the top of the bag over by one-half inch two times to encase the edge between the fabric so it won̵7;t fray. Iron the hem flat.

  Sew the hem around the top of the nylon bag. Use a straight stitch and a one-quarter inch seam allowance. Turn the bag right-side out.

  Pin the nylon straps to the outside of the bag in a horseshoe shape with the top of the horseshoe as the handle. The straps should be long enough that they come to the middle of the bag with at least six to eight inches of strap left for the handle.

  Sew the straps to the tote bag with a straight stitch. Sew around the entire perimeter of the straps where they connect to the bag.
