Things You'll Need
Instructions
Trace around your child̵7;s feet using the pen or tailor's chalk onto a thin piece of leather.
Cut out both foot patterns from the leather with the scissors. If you're using old flip-flops, remove the old canvas by popping out the center piece of rubber that slides between the toes and cutting off the canvas on either side with the scissors.
Use the hole punch to punch three holes on either side of the pieces of leather or flip-flop. Punch the first two holes, one on either side, about 1 inch from the end of the sandal. Punch two more holes, one on either side, 1 inch from the first hole. Punch the last two holes, one either side, at the point on the sandal where the middle of the child̵7;s heel will rest.
Cut strips of soft fabric about 2 inches wide and approximately 12 inches long, depending on how high the laces should come when tied.
Thread the fabric through the top two holes so that it is hanging out from the bottom of the sandal.
Thread the fabric back up through the second two holes and cross the fabric in the middle.
Take each end of the fabric and insert into the two remaining holes on either side. Bring the fabric to the back of the child̵7;s foot and cross at the back of the ankle and bring the fabric to the front. Wrap at least once more, crossing the fabric at the back and then tying off in a bow in the front.
