How to Make a Plus Size Toga

Toga costume parties can be put together on the fly and still be done well. One reason for this is that the toga costume requires very little effort to construct. You can create an authentic Roman look that is also comfortable in just a few minutes. For those who need a plus size toga, they take no more extra time to construct than one of a smaller size. Make your own toga that fits your body well and stays in place while you enjoy the party.

Instructions

    • 1

Ask a friend to hold up a sheet to your back. Be sure the sheet runs parallel to the floor. Bed sheets come in a variety of sizes, making it the ideal fabric to use for plus size togas.

    • 2

Choose a length for your plus size toga. If you want a mini-skirt toga, fold the sheet in half. Don't fold the sheet if you want a traditional full-length toga.

    • 3

Wrap the sheet around the left side of your body. Use safety pins to secure the sheet at your waist. You have some extra fabric on your right side.

    • 4

Take the loose section of sheet on your right side and put it over your left shoulder. Once over your shoulder, pull the sheet under your right arm and then behind your back once again.

    • 5

Secure the loose sheet with safety pins. Pin on a decorative brooch to any areas where the sheet remains loose. Decorate the sheet with gold spray paint and gold leaves.
