Instructions

  1. Sew-on Velcro

    • 1

Measure the area that you want to fasten. Draw a light line with a pencil on the fabric at the bottom and top of the closure area.

    • 2

Unroll both the hook side and the loop side of the Velcro. Measure the correct size on each and trim.

    • 3

Place the loop side on the bottom of the closure area. This will be the side of your project that is on the inside when the top piece is folded over on it.

    • 4

Sew one corner of the Velcro to the fabric, stitching all the way around. Knot and tie off the thread underneath the fabric.

    • 5

Stick the hook side of the cut Velcro onto the sewed on loop side. Place your top piece of fabric on top of the hook side. Slightly lift the fabric to mark the position on the top piece of fabric with a pencil.

    • 6

Sew the hook side of Velcro onto the top piece of fabric in the same manner.

    Fabric-fusion Velcro

    • 7

Plug in a steam iron filled with water and let it heat up.

    • 8

Cut a hook side and a loop side to the size you need.

    • 9

Peel the protective baking from the hook side of the Fusion Velcro. Stick the hook side onto your project.

    • 10

Place the hook side face down on a flat surface or an ironing board. Cover the fabric with a soft cloth to protect it.

    • 11

Press the Fabric Fusion with the iron on the steam setting for 90 seconds. Apply medium pressure, moving the iron back and forth.

    • 12

Let the fabric cool and check one corner to make sure the Velcro adhered to the fabric. If a corner lifts off the fabric, repeat ironing that section for an additional 90 seconds.

    • 13

Repeat this process to fasten the loop side of the fastener to your project.
