Things You'll Need
Instructions
Select a design and choose where on the socks you want it. Measure the design to ensure it will fit on the sock, and note the measurements.
Pull on the cuffs of the socks slightly to get an idea of how they will stretch when worn. Insert a straight pin in the sock on each side of where you want the design (only through one layer of fabric), while the sock is still stretched. Remember to place the pins on opposite sides of the pair of socks so that the designs will face out when worn.
Stretch a piece of embroidery stabilizer over your embroidery hoop and secure in place. Lay your socks on the stabilizer and stretch them again so that your original pins are the appropriate distance apart for your design. Insert additional pins, securing the sock to the embroidery stabilizer at the right stretchiness.
Place another pin where the bottom of your embroidery design will be and at the opening hem. Pin the other side of the sock down below the bottom of the design so that the sock doesn't accidentally get sewn shut.
Ensure your machine is ready for use and set to the desired design. Position the embroidery hoop on the machine at the correct starting point, and embroider the sock.
Repeat the process for the other sock and trim any excess stabilizer from the back of the embroidered design when finished.
