Instructions

    • 1

Prepare the minky and flannel fabrics for sewing by machine washing and drying.

    • 2

      Iron the fabric pieces flat.

    • 3

Lay the minky flat on a table or floor with the plush, right side of the fabric facing up. Lay the flannel fabric directly on top the minky with the right side facing down. The right sides of both fabric pieces should be facing each other.

    • 4

Align the edges of the two fabric pieces as straight as possible. Use the scissors to even out the fabric edges.

    • 5

Place straight pins perpendicular to the fabric edge along all four edges of the fabric. You must place one pin every 1 and 1/2 inches to prevent the minky fabric from slipping.

    • 6

Place the pinned together fabric pieces on the sewing machine. Use a medium length straight stitch and a 1/4-inch seam allowance to stitch around the edges of the blanket. Remove straight pin as they are encountered and leave a 12-inch opening along one of the blanket's edges. Cut the thread and remove the fabric from the machine.

    • 7

Flip the blanket right side out through the 12-inch opening. Fold the raw edges of the opening in and use the same medium length straight stitch to top stitch the opening shut.

    • 8

Continue top stitching along the entire perimeter of the throw blanket. Cut the thread and remove the blanket from the machine.
