How to Make a Net Veil

You can attach a net veil to a hat or wear it alone. It is a subtle accessory that draws attention to the wearer's face. Use net with large holes for a crisp look. Fine veiling obscures your view and other people's view of you. A veil can be any length, but just below the chin is especially flattering. It is a length that works well with most hairstyles and necklines.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Cut a strip of net veiling with large holes 36 inches long and 12 inches wide.

    • 2

Gather the long edge of the net strip by hand-sewing with large stitches 1/2 inch from the edge.

    • 3

Pull the ends of the thread to gather the long edge of the fabric tightly into a bunch. Knot the ends of the thread together to hold the bunch of fabric together. Spread the other edge of the fabric into a circle. Turn the veil right side out.

    • 4

Sew a small, clear hair comb to the gathered edge on the inside of the hat. Sew it loosely so that the comb can move back and forth. When it is pointing back, the concave side should be down. You can also sew the veil to a small hat instead of a comb.
