How to Adjust a Juki Pedal

Juki is a manufacturer of industrial and home sewing machines. Their first home machines were marketed in Japan and other countries in 1947. Juki sewing machines became popular in the USA in 1953 and continue to be in demand today. A Juki machine can be purchased in computerized and mechanical models for both novices and professionals. The machines have user friendly features such as a foot pedal, which allows the user's hand to be free while sewing. The pedal is adjustable to provide more comfort to the user. You can adjust your Juki pedal by following a few steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Disconnect the sewing machine's power by removing the electrical cord from the power outlet.

    • 2

Prepare to adjust the pedal. Straighten the connecting rod and motor control lever by moving the pedal to the right or left.

    • 3

Adjust the angle of the pedal. Change the length of the connecting rod by loosening the screw on the side of the rod and moving the rod to a different position.

    • 4

Tighten the screw on the side of the rod until it is secure but not too tight. You may need to adjust the pedal again at a later date and want to be able to turn the screw with ease any time you'd like to move it.

    • 5

Plug the sewing machine cord back into the power outlet and turn it on. See how the new position feels. If you need to readjust the pedal again, repeat the steps.
