Even Feed

Commonly used by quilters, the foot also holds benefits when sewing fabrics like leather, velvet and plaids.
Open Toe
The open-toe foot has a front opening that allows a clearer view of your stitching area and fabric markings. Uses for this foot include decorative stitching and attaching appliques, tasks made easier because the foot&'s underside. The Simplicity Sewing Company notes this foot has a wide channel that allows dense stitching to "easily glide" underneath.
Darning
Darning feet ease the process of repairing holes in fabric but also offer benefit with monogramming, painting with thread or quilting. According to Simplicity, when you need to move the fabric frequently while sewing, the foot&'s tiny hoop presses the fabric against the needle plate allowing better stitch formation.
Narrow Hem
The narrow- or rolled-hem foot makes it easier to sew hems such as those typically found on scarves, napkins, tablecloths and on some garments because the hems on these items are smaller than standard size.This foot excels when sewing straight lines but does not perform as well on curves.
