Cut the Fabric for Your Diaper Stacker
Draw a half circle 9 inches tall and 13 inches wide on the piece of paper. This will be the pattern for the top of the bag.
Pin the half-circle pattern to the fabric and cut around it. Cut a second half-circle the same way.
Use the same half-circle pattern to cut two pieces of fusible interfacing. Place the bumpy side of the interfacing against the wrong side of the fabric half-circles, then iron the fusible interfacing to the fabric.
Cut one rectangle of fabric 13 inches wide by 22 inches tall for the back of the bag.
Cut two rectangles of fabric, each 7 inches wide by 22 inches tall for the front of the bag.
Cut one rectangle of fabric 13 inches wide by 9 inches tall for the bottom of the bag.
Cut two triangles of fabric, each 22 inches tall and 9 inches wide at the bottom for the sides of the bag. The top of each triangle should taper to a narrow point.
Sew Your Diaper Stacker
Fold one long edge of each front rectangle over 1/2-inch toward the wrong side of the fabric, then fold it over another 1/2 inch. Press the folds flat, then stitch them in place using matching thread.
Lay out the front pieces right side up, with the stitched edges touching each other. Place one of the half circles right side down on the top of the bag fronts, lining up the straight edge of the half circle with the top of the rectangles. Pin these pieces together, then stitch them together. Press the seam flat.
Place the other half circle and the back of the bag (large rectangle) right sides together, lining up the straight edge of the half circle with the top of the rectangle. Pin these pieces together, then stitch them together. Press the seam flat.
Fold the curved edge of each half circle over 1/2 inch. Press the fold flat, then stitch it in place.
Place the front of the bag and the two side triangles right sides together, lining up the lower edge of the triangles with the lower edge of the rectangles. Pin the triangles to the sides of the rectangles, then stitch them in place. Press the seams open.
Line up the unsewn edge of one side triangle with the side of the back of the bag, with the fabrics right sides together. Pin the pieces together, then sew them together and press the seam open. Sew the other side triangle to the other side of the bag back the same way.
Pin the front and back of the diaper stacker top (half-circles) together. Stitch along the edges of the half-circles, leaving an opening 2 inches wide in the center of the top of the bag.
Pin the bottom rectangle of the diaper stacker to the lower edges of the bag back, fronts and sides, with the fabric's right sides together. Stitch the bottom fabric to the bag, then turn the diaper stacker right side out.
Cut a piece of cardboard 12-1/2 inches wide by 8-1/2 inches deep. Cut a rectangle of fabric 17-1/2 inches deep, and 13-1/2 inches wide to make a cover for the cardboard.
Fold the cover fabric in half right sides together. Stitch along the side opposite the fold and one short end. Turn the fabric right side out and insert the cardboard. Turn the edges of the open end under 1/2 inch to the inside and pin them together. Stitch the open end closed.
Place the covered cardboard in the bottom of the diaper stacker. Insert the hooked end of the child size hanger through the opening in the top of the diaper stacker.
