How to Sew a Catch Stitch

A catch stitch is a loose and relatively fancy stitch that is used to hold down edges. You may see this stitch used in sewing petticoats or undergarments. This stitch also comes in handy when hemming knits. In addition, it is also good for holding facings in place and is a pretty stitch to use to trim sacques.
