Things You'll Need
Instructions
Cut two pieces of fabric, each measuring 6 1/2 by 7 inches. To make it easier to differentiate between the sides, make small pencil marks on the right side of the pieces of fabric to indicate which sides are shorter.
Cut one piece of fusible interfacing that measures 6 inches by 6 1/2 inches.
Place the fusible side of the interfacing on the wrong side of one of your fabric pieces. Iron the interfacing to the fabric.
Lay one piece of fabric on your work area with the right side of the material face-up. Place the other piece on top with the right side face-down, leaving the wrong sides of the fabric showing.
Pin the pieces together.
Stitch the two pieces of fabric together, using a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Leave about 2 inches of the last side unstitched.
Turn the pouch right-side out and iron the seams, turning the seam allowances toward the center of the pouch. Using the marks you made earlier, place a pin on the short sides of the piece to identify them.
Stitch the turning opening closed. Iron the seams flat, with the seam allowances toward the center of the piece.
Fold the long edges to the center of the piece, aligning them so that they touch with no overlap.
Pin the short edges and then stitch along those two sides with a 1/4-inch seam allowance.
Embellish your new tissue holder with embroidery, beads and buttons, or even rubber-stamped designs, if desired.
