Instructions
Lay the t-shirt flat on the table. Use a straight edge to mark from the edge of the neckline on the shoulder to the underarm seam. Leave the neckline casing intact. Make sure both marks are identical on both sides of the t-shirt. If there is writing on the front of the shirt, you can adjust the cutting lines around it.
Cut the t-shirt sleeves off. If you want to have a back in your halter top, you can stop there. If not proceed to the next step.
Turn the t-shirt over and smooth it out on the cutting surface. Mark a straight line across the back from the left underarm seam to the right underarm seam. Cut the single layer of fabric away. Also cut the fabric away from the neckline casing.
Pull the freshly cut edges to make them curl. Try the t-shirt on. If it is too loose in the sides, you can take up the slack with safety pins. Or if you prefer you can take up the side seams with the sewing machine.
