Instructions

    • 1

Begin with a pre-made blanket or quilt. If you prefer, you can also make your own simple blanket. The blanket can be various sizes to fit any type of stroller, but a common size would be 28-by-45 inches.

    • 2

Cut the twill tape in two strips, each about 14 inches long. Fold one strip in half creating two 7-inch strips, and finish the rough edges of twill tape if necessary with a simple fold and stitch across the thin edge. Repeat with the other 14-inch strip. These will be the ties placed at the top of the stroller cover.

    • 3

Measure an inch or so from the top of the blanket on the longer side and take the center fold of one strip of twill tape and either tuck it under the inside binding of the blanket, or if no binding is available, place along the inside edge about an inch from the top. Sew the folded edge of the binding to the blanket. Repeat with the other twill tape strip on the opposite side.

    • 4

Sew buttons of your choice at the bottom of the blanket on the inside. Place buttons about an 1.25 inches from the edges of the blanket and space about 3 inches apart up the edge. Repeat on the opposite side with three more buttons.

    • 5

Create buttonholes that line up with the buttons when the bottom portion of the blanket is folded under and the buttons on the inside will come through the top. Depending on where buttons were placed, the first hole will be approximately 10 ¼ inches from the bottom edge and then every three inches. Repeat button hole creation on opposite side of the stroller cover.
