Things You'll Need
Instructions
Remove the cover from your toilet seat at the hinges.
Place the seat on the reverse side of the fabric and use a pencil to trace an outline of the seat. Make sure not to place it directly on the edge or corners of the fabric because you will need to have a 2-inch buffer outside of your lines.
Cut out the form you traced leaving a 2-inch perimeter around the entire form.
Trim a length of elastic the same as the circumference of the toilet seat, beginning at the curved edge and ending again at the curved edge. Do not include the straight edge where the hinge goes.
Sew the elastic onto the edge of the fabric following the curved line. Do not attach any elastic on the straight edge where the hinge goes.
Hem the rough straight edge of fabric to create a finished look.
Attach the toilet seat cover back onto the hinges. Place your new fabric cover over the seat. Anytime it gets dirty or dusty, simply slip the cover off and toss it in the washer.
