Instructions
Purchase some felt in a favorite M&M color. It should be green, red, dark brown, dark blue, yellow or orange. Purchase 2 yards for a child, or 3 yards for an adult.
Cut 2 large circles out of the felt. If the costume is for an adult, and the felt is not wide enough to get a perfect circle, then cut an oval and the costume may be a peanut M&M.
Sew together the 2 circles, leaving about 10 to 12 inches near the top open for the head. The bottom edge should be left open for the legs. After sewing, turn inside out so that the seams are on the inside.
Try the costume on the wearer to mark the correct place for the arms to go through. This should be in the front circle, about two-thirds of the way up the circle. Cut 2 slits large enough for the arms to fit through.
Cut a large "M" out of white felt. Glue onto the front of the circle with a hot glue gun. Place near the center of the circle if you're not using a face. If you're adding a face, place closer to the bottom leaving plenty of room for the mouth and eyes.
Cut out round eyes from the white felt. Cut out a black smiling mouth from black felt and 2 small circles for pupils. Glue them onto the front of the costume to make the face of the M&M. Cut out 2 semicircles from left over colored felt and glue them over the top of the white eyes for eyelids.
Complete the costume with white sweat pants or leggings, a white turtle neck and white gloves.
