Zeiss Optics
Zeiss Optics began as the brainchild of Carl Zeiss in Jena, Germany in 1847, where he innovated the process of making a simple microscope that used only a single lens. Since that time, the company has grown and now makes eyeglasses, contact lenses, binoculars, riflescopes, surgical equipment, planetarium lenses and magnifying glasses. Zeiss produces a line of aplanatic achromatic pocket magnifiers, including the Zeiss 10x Triplet. This small (1/2-inch diameter) folding loupe has multi-layer anti-reflective coating and is corrected for spherical aberrations which can interfere with sharp focusing.
