How to Climb a Rope Ladder at a Carnival

Carnival games are great fun for participants with strength, agility or a certain skill. Prizes for winning a game vary in size from a small toy to a large stuffed animal. Applying physics to the rope ladder game will enable you to reach the top. Sir Isaac Newton's third law of physics is "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction." The correct procedure of climbing a rope ladder is based on this theory.

Instructions

    • 1

Place each hand on the rope portion of the ladder on each side. Step on the bottom ladder rung with one foot near the outside of the rung.

    • 2

Move the opposite hand from the foot on the ladder upward and pull yourself up.

    • 3

Place the second foot on the second rung of the ladder while moving the opposite hand up. Continue this process of moving the opposite hand and foot at the same time to climb to the top. For example, each time you step up with your left foot, you raise your right arm on the rope area.
