The Honda CB400 motorcycles were a series of automatic motorcycles manufactured by the the Japanese company, Honda, from 1975 to 1978. When a motorcycle is automatic, it means that it has a two-speed unit with a torque converter and manual change. This particular model was considered an upgrade of the Honda CB 360 series due to it's higher power as well as sleek style.

    • The 1975 model of the Honda CB400 boasted a top speed of 98.2 mph with a compression rate of 9:4:1. The inline, four-stroke engine had a horsepower of 37.00 at 8,500 rpm. With a weight of only 405.7 lb, the 1975 Honda CB400 could provide a smooth, swift ride.

    1978 Honda CB400 T

    • The 1978 model of the CB400 series was even lighter in weight compared to the 1975 model. Weighing in at only 403.4 lb, this model had a top speed of 90.1 mph with a hp of 27.00 at 7,500 rpm. The CB400 T was categorized as an "all around bike" by BikeZ and has a five-speed gearbox and a four-stroke twin engine.

    1979 Honda CB 400 N

    • The last of the 1970s CB400 series is the 1979 Honda CB 400 N. This model fell into the sports touring category. The bike also had a twin-four stroke engine with a horsepower identical to the CB400 T. However, the top speed was reduced to 85.1 mph with a compression rate of 9:3:1. In addition, the weight increased to 407.9 lb.
