How to Photograph Feet

There is just something about baby feet that people enjoy. It's one of the first parts of a baby that gets photographed. The feet are even inked and placed on paper as a memorandum of when the baby was that small. There are several ways a parent can take a good photography of their baby's feet.

Instructions

    • 1

Take a picture of the baby's feet by themselves. This is the first shot and the simplest one. It is better if the foot or feet are placed on a white blanket or sheet. Try not to get the rest of the baby in the picture. That means you should zoom in and get a close up shot of the feet.

Wait for the baby to move their toes around and grab a shot. The best ones are when the baby spreads out his toes. Another good shot is when the baby has the big toe sticking up and the rest of the toes are down. It may take some time to get this shot. Try ticking the baby as this will cause them to move some of their body parts. Hopefully the toes will be one of them.

Compare and contrast adult feet with baby feet. A fun picture would be to have your baby's feet above the mother's or father's feet. This shows how small the baby is and reminds us how big the baby will be someday.

Now place your baby's feet in different positions and take pictures. Probably the most common position is the criss cross. Place one foot over the other. If the baby is sleeping the baby will probably leave her feet in that position, but if the baby is awake the baby may move her feet back to the original position. So try to get this shot when your baby is taking a nap.

Dress those feet up. Just like any other photo shoot you need to dress up your baby's feet. Use cute little shoes or bunny slippers. Whatever you have on hand that you think will make a great shot. Try several different things until you find something you like.
