Things You'll Need
Instructions
Cut the top off of your 2-liter plastic bottle. Make your cut where the contours of the top (or neck) of the bottle meet the body (or cylinder) of the bottle. When cutting, it is safer to hold your razor blade in place while rotating the bottle to cut rather than trying to force the blade through the plastic.
Remove the bottle cap. Wrap two pieces of tissue paper around the brim of the bottle top (where the cap screws on). Tape down the tissue. Cut the tissue so that it extends 3 inches from the bottle top. This creates an added obstacle to keep the snake in the trap once it enters.
Flip the bottle top around and place it upside down into the bottle cylinder. The bottle top with tissue should be inside the bottle and pointing toward the bottom of the bottle. Align the edges of both pieces of bottle (the edges of the bottle that were made when cut with the razor blade). Tape them brim-to-brim. The top of the your trap should now look like the top half of an hourglass.
Place your snake bait in the trap and place it around your home or garden. Poke holes in the side of the trap to let the scent of the bait escape.
