How to Help Endangered Wildlife

When an animal becomes extinct, it changes the ecosystem and brings a negative reaction from people who appreciate the diversity on earth. Animals that are endangered include the Siberian tiger, blue whale, green sea turtle and Asian elephant. People today are trying to save some of these wild animals in a variety of ways. You can help because there is still time to help these animals recover to a thriving population.

Instructions

    • 1

Volunteer at a national park. Talk to a park ranger about any endangered animal to see how you can help out. Ask if you are able to supply with any essentials such as water or food or make a monetary donation.

    • 2

Connect with others in your area who are also looking to help endangered animals. Search the Internet for any wildlife support groups within you area. A group can help in looking after land and areas where endangered animals are most vulnerable.

    • 3

Avoid using too much pesticide or any harsh chemical sprays in the outdoors that can find their way into plant life and open waters such as ponds. The same chemicals that kill insects are just as poisonous to birds and mammals who rely on plants and ponds to survive.

    • 4

Look for and get rid of any inhumane traps placed in the wild to capture animals, as well as recycle and discard all trash. Some trash may appear as food to an animal, and may harm them.

    • 5

Let your local and state government know about any wildlife issues that are affecting endangered species. Contact them through e-mail, telephone or by writing them letters.

    • 6

Donate to a credible organization such as the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) organization. These organizations look to protect endangered species from extinction by conserving their natural habitat.
