Birds With Eyelashes

Eyelashes are an uncommon feature in birds. Hair-like lashes are found in mammals and humans. However, some birds have prominent feather eyelashes that are long and used to protect the bird's eyes. Some birds have thick eyelashes or long eyelashes that are grown at the edge of the bird's eyelid.
  1. African Ground Hornbills

    • African Ground Hornbills have long eyelashes with dark eyes. The eyelashes are actually modified feathers. Both males and females have a variety of colored faces and eyes.
