How to Hang Pig Show Ribbons

In E.B. White's beloved children's novel "Charlotte's Web," a very artistic spider saves a pig named Wilbur from certain death by making him famous --- so famous that he wins first prize at the County Fair. If you raise and show pigs, you probably have your own Wilbur you'd like to honor with a ribbon display. When hanging your pig show ribbons, consider incorporating photos of the people who help you feed and take care of your pig. They'll appreciate your taking the time to honor their efforts and attention.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase a leather belt --- or use one you already have --- and hot glue the ribbons to it in a straight line. Leave room on the belt for future ribbons. Hang the belt horizontally on a prominent wall in your home.

    • 2

Frame the ribbons with one or more photos of your prize-winning pig. Apply double-side tape to the back of the ribbons and affix them in a decorative pattern around the photo(s).

    • 3

Make a shadow box with your pig's ribbons and photos. Add other decorative objects such as plastic pigs and other farm animals, miniature barns and tractors and artificial grass.

    • 4

Make a collage with photos of your pig and its ribbons. Glue the photos and ribbons to a piece of poster board, laminate it and hang it on the wall.

    • 5

Frame your pig's ribbons in separate frames. Place a framed photo of your pig on the wall and hang the framed ribbons around it.

    • 6

Incorporate your pig's ribbons into a handmade quilt, then hang the piece on the wall. A homemade quilt can help preserve your pig's ribbons for many years. You'll also have a treasured heirloom you can pass on to your children or grandchildren. If you can't sew, hire someone to make the quilt for you.
