How to Hatch an Egg Faster

Baby chicks require 21 days to hatch, on average. The time spent in the egg is essential to their proper growth and development, so it is not really possible to hatch an egg faster than that time length. However, there are a few ways you can ensure the best likelihood that your egg will hatch on the 21st day.

Instructions

    • 1

Maintain the proper humidity in your incubator. The humidity should be 58 percent to 60 percent between day one and day 18 and should be upped to 65 percent between day 18 and day 21. Check the humidity level regularly.

    • 2

Check the temperature regularly. Incubators should be at 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Put the thermometer at the height of the eggs to ensure proper readings.

    • 3

Turn eggs daily. The ideal number of turns per day is four to six. Do not turn them after day 18.

    • 4

Wash your hands before handling eggs.

    • 5

Open air vents slowly as chicks begin hatching so they can breathe properly.
