How to Use Clove Oil to Worm Goats & Sheep

Worms are commonly found in goats and sheep, but since some worms spread harmful and fatal diseases, an animal with symptoms of a serious infestation, such as a dull coat, listlessness and coughing, must be isolated and treated. When worming with natural herbs as an alternative to chemical treatments, add cloves to the herbal mix, as the oils penetrate and kill parasites before their eggs hatch.

Instructions

    • 1

Isolate your infected animals to prevent the spread of parasites.

    • 2

Wait for a full moon to administer the treatment, as this is when parasites detach to breed and lay eggs.

    • 3

Mix equal parts of each of the fresh ingredients in the ingredients list, with the exception of rue---add only half as much of this as of the other ingredients. Use them whole, or chop them into small pieces. Do not chop them into a fine powder, as this decreases their medicinal value.

    • 4

Administer the mixture to the affected animal in quantities of roughly one tbsp. per 130 pounds of body weight. Your animals should eat the herbs freely when they are added to the animals' usual food.

    • 5

Administer herbs for seven to 14 days.
