Oklahoma Metal Detector Clubs

Metal detecting is an inexpensive hobby that can be done almost anywhere. Oklahoma is a unique state for treasure hunting because of its ghost towns and numerous historic sites. Although this activity can be enjoyed alone, many people find that metal detecting with other treasure hunters makes this hobby more attractive. The Sooner State has a number of clubs that will allow metal detecting enthusiasts of all ages to connect.
  1. Three Forks Treasure Hunters

    • Three Forks Treasure Hunters began in 1983 as a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting hunting with metal detectors. The group does not endorse or recommend any particular brand of metal detector. Membership is open to anyone agreeing to follow the club's code of ethics. This code of ethics includes agreeing not to trespass, filling holes dug and respecting nature. Membership dues are $25 per family per year. The club meets at 7:15 the first Friday of every month at the Wagoner Community Building in Wagoner, Oklahoma. The club organizes special outings and organized hunts as well as other social events such as holiday get-togethers. The club also publishes a monthly newsletter for its members which gives information about upcoming meetings and organized events.

These meetings are held in the Owasso Community Center in Owasso, Oklahoma. They will discuss upcoming events and welcome new members during this time. Club membership is open to any Oklahoma resident, with annual dues being only $25 per family. Membership is considered to be for a calendar year. The club is active in many community service projects such as sponsoring children at the nearby Oaks Indian Mission with back-to-school and Christmas gifts.
