Things You'll Need
Instructions
Insert information for birth time, place, and date. Precise information is important, or else you won't get the right house placements.
Find where the Sun is placed in the chart---in other words, the location of the sign of Taurus. This placement will give you clues as to the core personality and self of the querent. The house placement will show the prime focus of the Taurus' life; for instance, a seventh house Sun placement will show that the Taurus may place relationships and partnerships first.
Check out aspects, or planetary relationships, between the Sun and other planets. Lots of squares and other challenging aspects may indicate areas of difficulty. For a Taurus, challenging aspects can bring up feelings of stasis and can rile up that famous resistance to change. Flowing aspects, on the other hand, will bring out the mild, patient and easy side of the Bull.
Look at the sign on the cusp of the first house. The ascendant will illustrate the Taurean's life path, as well as a bit of insight into physical features and body. An Earth (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) or Water (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) ascendant works in an even flow with the Taurus Sun; these natives often have a calming energy and focused life path. Air (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) and Fire (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) ascendants, on the other hand, are interesting because of their conflicting energy. Don't worry, the conflict makes for very dynamic people.
Examine the placement of Venus in the chart. Venus, the ruler of Taurus, is the planet of love and money. The house and aspects of Venus will show areas of strength or challenge for the Taurus native. Fortunate placements for Venus include the fourth, fifth, seventh, eight and ninth houses. For a precise list of Venus aspects, check the aspectarian chart at the bottom of the natal chart.
Pay particular attention to the second and eighth houses. Taurus rules the second house of possessions and self-produced wealth, while its opposite sign, Scorpio, rules the eighth house of shared resources and primal life energies. As a Taurus, the planets in these houses mean something. What is here describes your financial life, as well as issues of self-worth. Difficult aspects or planets deserve more examination.
